Behind the Image--Iris

Behind the Image--Iris

Wow—I’m already on my third photo…how time flies. Well this picture was taken with my macro lens. The thing I love about this photo is it reminds me of a kaleidoscope I used to play with when I was a kid. I took several shots and this one was the winner. I miss seeing flowers….I guess the snow will have to do. But on the bright side, we are almost done with winter.

Another great tidbit about these photos is I didn't have to travel far. I am lucky to have these beauties in my front yard. I can't wait to meet them again!

Art Reach on Broadway

Art Reach on Broadway

Hello everyone,

During my lunch hour one afternoon, I was parked in front of this business called Art Reach on Broadway. I have never heard of it before and decided to go check it out.

Come to find out, this has been something I have been missing out on for quite some time and I had discovered a new motivation. This company is a consignment dealer that consists of various artwork submitted by many local artists in the area. If anyone needs any type of wonderful artwork to display in their homes or give as a gift, I highly recommend checking out the place. Not only is it top of the line material, it is produced by many talented people in our area.

I am dropping off some pieces that will be displayed in the store in the beginning of February. I am so excited to see my work hanging in a store!

There are numerous local artists that specialize in metal, glass, ceramics, jewelry, painting, and anything and everything that is handcrafted--not to mention great photographs of course (wink, wink). So if you are in the Mt. Pleasant area, you should check it out!

Behind the Image--Hot Air Balloons!

Hello everyone and welcome to the second installment of Behind the Image! I don’t know what it is about hot air balloons, but they hold this power over me that is so overwhelming the only thing I can do is cry (in a good way of course!). This photo was taken at the Danish Festival in Greenville and even though it is hard waking up at 6:00 am on the weekends, there is no feeling like it in the world.

I took a couple of shots during the dawn and dusk launches and and we became official balloon stalkers. It was incredible driving though dirt roads while they flew over us and landed in people’s back yard. I don’t know what I would do if anything like that ever happened to me. Enjoy!

These images were taken first thing in the morning.

This is where we officially became balloon stalkers. We followed them to see where they were going to land. We were so lucky to see them land in someone's backyard who just so happens to be on a lake!

Stay tuned for next week when I drop some amazing news on an upcoming project! I can't wait.

Behind the Image--Lightning

Hello all,

Welcome to the New Year! So I was just thinking about how cool it would be to post some pictures from my personal gallery and give the readers some background information about the photo. Consider this a series to be completed over the course of several months.

This is one of my favorite images because this was my first time taking pictures of lightning. I couldn’t believe how lucky I got. This was a very active storm and we went to three different locations throughout the night. By the night’s end, I ended up taking over 20 different pictures of lightning.

The reason why it is my favorite is because I spent hours upon hours in the rain waiting to capture this image. I started around 8:00pm and it was 2:00 am when I called it a night and this was the very last frame taken.

These were some of the other images that were captured throughout the night. Yes it was an accomplishment for me to capture this many, but nothing was a profound as the top image.

(Bull) Dozer (Ground Breaker)

Hello all,

I have a huge soft spot for big and lazy cuddle dogs and I finally found my baby! His name is Dozer and he is our new addition to the family. Dozer is an Old English Bulldog and he is everything I have ever wanted in a puppy….big, lazy, and loving. But what I love most about him is his loud snoring! When I first saw him….it was love at first sight

Here are a few images that make my heart melt. If anybody is interested in purchasing one of his brothers, you better act fast. She has one left of this litter but don’t worry…there is another litter with the expected arrival of January 12.

Full Aperture Photography

Hello Everyone,

I wanted to elaborate once again how new this blogging stuff is to me. I have only heard of it just recently and decided to jump on the band wagon. I wanted to take this opportunity to let anyone who reads this know what I am all about.

I am a one person business-woman who has always had a passion for the camera. I decided to branch off and start a business and the easiest thing so far was coming up with the name…so I thought! I wanted to name my photography business something that would be easier than the trying to pronounce my first name. I decide on Full Aperture Photography, and I must admit if I were to do it all over again, I would change it.

I still don’t have a better idea …it seems that people struggle with aperture so no matter what—Aperture or Leilani it’s a battle. So now that everything is out in the open, welcome to Full Aperture Photography by Leilani Tucker. There that sums it all up!!!
