Okay, Okay....I'm officially a blog slacker. I don't mean to neglect my blog, but sometimes that's how things happen. So in every effort to get back on the bandwagon, I'm leaving you with a little teaser of what is in store. I called some of my photography buddies to meet me at the studio so I could work on my new lighting and we had a blast.
I would like to thank my lovely resident model Ashley because without her....we really wouldn't have these amazing pictures. She can work it for the camera and we all loved that. So again....here's a sneak peek...more to come very soon :)

Leilani version 2.8
So on Friday I got to celebrate my birthday with a day off from work…which is always nice, no matter if it was my birthday or not. I got to spend some good old fashion quality time with my little brother….who by the way is 8 years old. So we did what any normal brother and sister who is 19 years apart would do…he went outside to play with the neighbor kid and I was inside editing pictures.
Upon completion, I figured that, “Hey, today was my day,” and I needed to get back in touch with my roots. So I packed up my camera bag, my little brother, and the neighbor kid (Justin) and we went to a bog just down the road and took some pictures. I was hoping to get a few shots of some Lady Slippers but of course, I’m a day late and a dollar short like always…..uhm, maybe more like a month late, but you get the point. So no Lady Slippers for me but I did get some great shots of pitcher plants and indian pipe.
Anyway….here are some images throughout the weekend that I go to do for fun. It pretty much sums up the brother-sister time. Ryan, you are the best brother in the whole wide world and I’m so glad I got to spend my birthday with you.
mmmm....ribeye steak....my absolute favorite!!
Ryan and Justin with their "light sabers"
Goat's beard. I never thought my nature study class at community college would pay off....guess I was wrong!
the official b-day cake hand-crafted with the help of my brother.
My other b-day "cake" from the neighbor girl, Anna.....thanks Anna!
Gotta love glow sticks......
Studio time with Ryan and Dozer!!
could you tell Ryan was having the time of his life?
My show dog, Dozer. Believe me folks, this is his happy face :)
My fav pic of the weekend!

Manuel's Senior Session
It was bright and early Sunday morning and I was so excited to meet Manuel for his senior session. He was all smiles and that was very refreshing! Our session lasted for a few hours and we hit all the great spots…and some spots I have never been to before! We started at the park, made a pit stop at a wheat field, made an appearance at an abandoned house, got eaten alive by mosquitoes at his Uncle’s property, and finally ended up at home sweet home, or in other words….at the studio.
There were so many great pictures I had to choose from….it was very hard to decide which pictures to post to the blog….but I can’t display his entire session….so here are my favorites of the day.
Thank you Ginny and Manuel for taking a chance with little ‘ole me. I had a blast and can’t wait to post the rest of your session! Here’s your sneak peek….Enjoy!

Hotel Montcalm
Before I opened up my studio, I approached Judy from Hotel Montcalm and asked her if she would be willing to allow me to photograph some of my clients in her bed & breakfast. Together we worked out the details and since then, both my clients and I are so excited to be there. Once you step inside, you are instantly surrounded with beauty and a since of time that is long forgotten. I absolutely love antiques, and to me a true bed & breakfast is one that has killer breakfast and memorable antiques.
Hotel Montcalm is not just a bed & breakfast, but also has an antique store and a lovely diner that is available for rent. Since Judy just finished up some renovations to her business, she is excited and ready to kick start her new image. She asked me to photograph inside and outside for new images for her website and print advertisement. I, of course, was more than happy to do so and love the opportunity to have my pictures grace someone else’s website and brochures.
So if you are looking for a cozy place to stay in Stanton, I highly suggest Hotel Montcalm.
