Ryan’s Senior Session

10.30.09

Yes, you are right…you have seen his face before. His name is Ryan and he’s a senior at Carson City High. He was also my Junior Representative who was so awesome to work with during the Spring I couldn’t wait to hang out with him again. This time it would be different, this time it would be on his terms.

Ryan is an exceptional young man and I wish I had half of his ambition. He’s the President of NHS and of his class. He’s participated in track and cross country and is planning on attending the Air Force Academy--that is just the tip of the iceberg!

His session was fun and a little out of my element. I love a challenge and when he told me he wanted an action shot of him and his quad—I was thrilled! Ryan, thank for making my job so much fun. Jodi, thanks for choosing me. I hope you enjoy your sneak peek.

On a side note, being chosen as a Junior Representative definitely has it perks. You get your picture on a business card and get printed on brochures and other various print media. Plus, and this is the most important part, your session is discounted in a HUGE way. If this sounds like something you are interested in please contact me for further information. Remember, you must be part of the graduating class of 2011. ~Thanks

Winds of Change...

10.26.09

So it was a few weeks ago when Todd took me out to our 2nd favorite Chinese Restaurant. For the last couple of months, I have been tossing around some drastic ideas for the future of my business and quite honestly I was a little scared. We chatted about futures… our future together and the future of where I would like to see the business head. At the end of our dinner, everything seemed hopeful.

There will be some changes coming soon…..very soon… like the next two weeks soon. The only thing I can say is I am very hopeful because I had my trusty fortune cookie tell me so. I’m kind of superstitious like that. So here’s to the winds of change coming this way…I’m so excited!!

Sam's Senior Session

10.19.09

Sam's session is something I have been waiting for. She didn't know it, but I absolutely love country settings and plaid shirts--then to top it off, she even busted out cowboy boots and one killer belt buckle!! :)

Sam is very sweet and innocent and is a member of the golf team. The thing that is so special about her session is that all of her locations are places she always spends time at. That's why I stress choosing your outdoor locations that mean something to you. I can imagine 10 years from now Sam saying, "I remember when I had my senior pictures taken here....oh that Leilani chick was so awesome!" Okay...I might have made that last part up but it's the memories that I'm trying to capture.

Sam, I had such a fantastic time with you and your mom. I loved all the places we visited and you totally rocked the country setting!

Here's your sneak peek....Enjoy!

You wouldn't realize that it was in the low 40's during her session....so I had to get a shot of her cute little gloves keeping her hands warm.

Baby Boy Dozer

It was a year ago today when she delivered eight little puppies. Who would have thought that I would find my baby boy Doz. I was surfing the internet for bulldogs and it was the luckiest day of my life when I found him! I contacted the breeder, Deb Carr, and on Thanksgiving weekend we brought him home. I remember her comment when I first saw him, "He's got a face only a Mother could love." I wasn't sure how to take it, but regardless...he's my baby.

Todd, Haylie, and I decided to throw Dozer a birthday party on Sunday. I must admit, I have never thrown a dog a birthday party before so we figured it couldn't be much different than any other birthday party. Haylie prepared the cakes and the decorations and Dozer was in complete shock. He really was....he even told me so!

So here are some images of his special day! I hope you enjoy it!

Lindsey's Senior Session

10.9.09

The pressure was on for Lindsey’s shoot. Lindsey already went to another local photographer and was not at all impressed with the outcome and she called me and wanted to see what I had to offer. We walked along trails, underneath railroad bridges, and by old buildings to get the look she wanted. If I were to say that I wasn’t nervous about her shoot, I wouldn’t be telling the truth….so I just decided to let the shoot unfold and sure enough we all had a blast!

Lindsey and her boyfriend Keaton were so much fun to work with. I absolutely love it when my clients choose their locations because most of the time, I haven’t been there before and it really makes spectacular backgrounds.

Thank you so much Lindsey….I really hope you will be happy this time around. Here is your sneak peak….Enjoy!

My Pot of Gold

10.7.09

I woke this morning and gathered all my equipment for an exciting photo shoot tonight, took Dozer out to his trusty dog house, and got in the car and headed to work. I was running a tad bit late and of course there is construction but when I got into town...I could not believe my eyes. Right there...stretching miles apart north and south was this huuuugggee rainbow. Luckily I had my camera gear and pulled over and took some pictures.

Now...just for the sake of saying, I was facing the rainstorm head on so please excuse all the little raindrops but I just had to share. I have been experiencing some rough patches here and there and going through a lot of changes that are about to take place for my business. This morning after seeing the rainbow, I feel that everything is going in the right direction.

You always hear...follow the rainbow to get the pot of gold....well guess what...I found it and took a picture of it and this marks the very first rainbow I have ever seen actually touch the ground! Next month will be a whirl of change and I can't wait to share it with you.
